About Courtney Hare

Experience

I am beginning my fourteenth year as an educator, and all fourteen of those years have been spent at Weleetka Public Schools.  I taught in the sixth grade classroom from 2005 until the spring of 2008. In the fall of 2008 I made my move across the street to teach English I, English III, and English IV. In the fall of 2013 I made another change, serving as the High School/Junior High School Counselor.  In the fall of 2017 I moved back across the street to serve as principal of the elementary school. The challenges of each position are different, but I can honestly say that I have never second guessed my decision to pursue education.

Education

I am a 2001 graduate of Weleetka High School.  After graduation I attended Eastern Oklahoma State College for one semester and then transferred to Connors State College where I graduated in 2003 with an Associate of Arts degree.  From there I went to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and graduated in 2005 with a  Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have always had a passion for writing and literature, so I decided upon graduation to gain certification in secondary English as well.  In 2010 I completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama, and am currently completing administration masters courses at East Central University in Ada.

Personal Life

In August of 2004 I married my high school sweetheart, Keith Hare, and we made our home in Weleetka. We have two beautiful daughters, Kallie Laine and Korbyn Faye.
