As a child, I began school at Graham Public Schools where I attended Kindergarten and half of first grade. God bless my teachers because I was more than the typical boy.
Later my mother and I moved to Okmulgee where I completed my elementary and Secondary education. It was here that a Joe Burton convinced me to start and stay in the band. Performing in the band was hard work and very rewarding.
After graduation in 1995, I continued my music education at Northeastern State University. During my time as an undergraduate, I was very involved in the Alpha Rho chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, where I help many offices including the chapter President and the Southwest District Parliamentarian receiving special recognition.
My career as a band director started in Shidler, OK where I taught for 3 years as the music and band director K-12. It was a nice community that afforded me many opportunities to perform and give private lessons at the near by Ponca City where I lived and attended church. In the summer of 2005 my wife and I began to look for work closer to home so that we could be near our families. Both of our grandparents were getting on in years and we were planning on starting our own family. I interviewed with Mr. Hunter and was offered the position that I hold today.
Marie and I now have two rambunctious boys, with two Nana's to help keep them spoiled, and a church home where we serve. We count ourselves blessed to be here.
